Welcome - if you have arrived here from a search, you have found the website of Rotary eClub Ibiza International (ReCII), the English-language Rotary club on Ibiza / Eivissa.
Joining ReCII begins with a conversation and an invitation to attend. Anyone may approach a member to enquire; from there we will introduce you to the club, invite you to our meetings over a period of weeks, and - if both you and we find it a good fit - invite you to apply for membership. It is a considered process on both sides rather than a sign-up form, which is part of what makes membership worth having. This article sets out who can join, what it costs, the difference between full and associate membership, and how to take the first step.
Who can join Rotary eClub Ibiza International?
Membership is open to adults of good standing who want to give their time in service to the community, locally and internationally. Our members are professional people, and we particularly welcome those who bring team-player and leadership qualities.
Those qualities matter because of what our work involves. Service projects are run by teams, and they need people who can collaborate and, when they wish to, lead. The same skills are what we draw on for our Board roles, which members may take on in time. You need not arrive with all of this proven; the willingness to contribute it is enough to begin.
What does ReCII membership cost?
For the 2026-27 Rotary year, full membership is €420 per year and associate membership is €150 per year. Full members are also invited to contribute around €100 towards the campaign to eradicate polio - a cause Rotary International has led globally for decades, and one of its proudest achievements. This contribution is customary, not mandatory.
These fees cover the running of the club and our obligations to Rotary International and the district; they are reviewed each Rotary year, which begins on 1 July, so it is worth confirming the current figure when you enquire. Because we meet mostly online, there is no weekly cost of meals at a venue, which traditional clubs that dine together may add. For how the two kinds of membership differ in commitment, see the next section.
What is the difference between full and associate membership?
Full membership is the usual way to belong to ReCII: members take part in meetings and projects, vote in club decisions, and may stand for Board roles. It carries our complete expectation of contribution.
Associate membership is a permanent option in its own right, at a lower annual fee, for people who cannot take on the full commitment that membership ordinarily asks but still want to support us and take part as they are able. Associate members hold a genuine and lasting place in the club. We value them for exactly what they offer - giving what they can, and meaning it.
How do I attend my first meeting, and what happens next?
When you enquire, we will put you in touch with our Membership Chair, who will welcome you, introduce you to the club, and invite you to attend our meetings - the online evenings and the monthly in-person gathering - as a visitor, taking part much as a member would.
This visiting period runs over a number of meetings, so that you can get to know us and our people, and our members can get to know you. Once you have attended enough to know your own mind, you will be invited to write an open letter to the members, saying why you would like to join and what you hope to contribute. The members then vote, anonymously. The full process is set out in our bylaws, and it exists for a straightforward reason: membership is a real commitment, and we would rather you and we were sure of each other before you make it. To see what our meetings are like, read how a Rotary eClub works.
How do I get in touch?
You can approach any member directly, or contact us using the contact form on this website or by email at info@recii.org. Either way, you will be put in touch with our Membership Chair, who will take it from there.
There is no obligation in enquiring, and no expectation that you will have made up your mind. If you are curious about Rotary, or about whether an English-language eClub on Ibiza / Eivissa suits your life, the visiting period is there precisely so you can find out. For why the eClub model tends to suit working and internationally mobile people, see Rotary for working professionals.
